About Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)

Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is a personalized approach to restoring balance by using hormones that are structurally identical to those your body naturally produces – most commonly estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

Derived from plant sources, these hormones are designed to closely match endogenous hormones, allowing

the body to recognize and use them more efficiently.

Hormones act as chemical messengers throughout the body, regulating essential functions like energy, mood, metabolism, and reproductive health.

When hormone levels become unbalanced, even slightly, it can lead to disruptive symptoms such as:

  • Decreased energy and motivation

  • Brain fog

  • Increased body fat and weight gain

  • Decreased muscle mass

  • Fatigue

  • Decreased sex drive

  • Erectile dysfunction

  • Vaginal dryness / painful intercourse

  • Depression / anxiety symptoms

  • Cardiovascular disease

  • Osteoporosis

BHRT works to address these imbalances at the root, helping you feel more like yourself again and supporting long-term wellness.

Our Wellness Team

The owners of LiveFit Again are bio-identical hormone replacement therapy patients themselves, having begun their treatment years ago at a Florida-based clinic. After experiencing a significant improvement in their overall health and quality of life, they were inspired to open their own clinic – so others could receive the same high standard of care and life-changing results.

Our medical practitioner, Nicole Norris, MS, APRN-BC, is a board-certified nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience in hormone replacement therapy and functional medicine, as well as advanced training from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), the gold standard and global leader for continuing education in HRT, longevity, and whole-body medicine.

Important Hormones & How Proper Treatment Can Improve Your Quality of Life

DHEA

DHEA is a powerful precursor to the body’s primary sex hormones–estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone–and is often referred to as the “mother hormone.” It is produced by the adrenal glands, which sit atop the kidneys. Adrenal fatigue or exhaustion caused by poor nutrition, yo-yo dieting, excessive caffeine intake, inadequate sleep, and physical or emotional stress means your adrenals are “tired”, which reduces the body’s ability to produce adequate levels of DHEA.

When DHEA levels are low, the body does not have enough working material to function optimally. This disruption can negatively affect hormone production and lead to a general sense of malaise, along with other symptoms of hormonal imbalance. The severity of symptoms often depends on how many additional demands are being placed on the body at the same time.

Adequate DHEA levels are essential to ensure the body can produce the hormones it needs when it needs them. While DHEA plays a critical role in hormonal health, over-the-counter supplementation is rarely the appropriate solution and should be approached with clinical guidance.

Estrogen

Estrogen is the primary female hormone and plays a key role in what makes women physiologically female. Produced mainly in the ovaries, it is essential to the reproductive cycle. An estrogen imbalance may lead to vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, urinary tract infections, and urinary incontinence. Low estrogen levels can also cause dryness of the hair, skin, nails, and eyes. Because estrogen affects brain receptors, an imbalance may contribute to apathy, depression, feelings of isolation, anxiety, and mood changes. Estrogen is also vital for clear thinking and memory; women with low estrogen may experience brain fog and short-term memory loss.

Sermorelin

Sermorelin is often as effective as Human Growth Hormone (HGH) for most people. The purpose of sermorelin therapy is to stimulate the pituitary gland to increase growth hormone production.

Benefits of Sermorelin Therapy:

  • Increases the development of lean body mass

  • Reduces body fat through lipolysis

  • Increases energy

  • Increases strength

  • Increases endurance

  • Speeds up soft tissue healing

  • Strengthens the heart

  • Enhances the immune system

  • Improves sleep quality

  • Increases bone density

Testosterone

Testosterone is a hormone found in both men and women. In men, it is produced in the testes; in women, it is produced in the ovaries. The adrenal glands also contribute to testosterone production. In both sexes, testosterone supports healthy sexual desire and function and plays an important role in maintaining bone health, muscle tone, and strength.

In men, low testosterone levels may result in decreased mood, motivation, focus, memory, and metabolism, as well as reduced sexual function and desire and erectile dysfunction. Additional effects may include decreased muscle mass, increased body fat, and reduced bone density or osteoporosis.

Testosterone is equally important for women. Although low testosterone is often considered a male condition, women may also experience deficiency, which can cause significant symptoms. These may include hot flashes, sweating, irritability, vaginal dryness, decreased sexual desire (low libido), brain fog, memory decline, and sleep disturbances. Loss of muscle mass and decreased bone density (osteoporosis) may also occur.

In both men and women, low testosterone levels are associated with an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and cardiovascular disease.

Progesterone

Progesterone and estrogen levels naturally decline as a woman ages, with progesterone often starting to decline in the early perimenopausal years for most women. Low progesterone levels can disrupt the menstrual cycle and contribute to accelerated aging. Progesterone deficiency is associated with PMS, heavy menstrual periods, low libido, decreased metabolism, poor sleep, anxiety, and impaired thyroid function. As levels decline, the skin may lose elasticity and bones may become brittle and weak, increasing the risk of conditions such as osteoporosis. Progesterone also plays a protective role in women’s overall health, including protection against female-specific cancers.

HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin)

HCG is a very powerful hormone that stimulates the body to maintain and sustain its own natural testosterone production. It can also help to maintain sperm production in those concerned about fertility when on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

The latest research suggests that diet, exercise and HCG supplementation increases the body’s ability to eliminate excess fat. Therefore, it is extremely beneficial for those looking to shed some extra weight as it aids to increase the body’s metabolism.
